  • The “perfidious” porphyry rock walls around Bolzano and Merano, the dolomitic rock of the Dolomites, the solid granite walls of Valle Pusteria and Val d’Isarco, the metamorphic rocks of Val Passiria and Val Venosta, the white marble of Lasa, the limestone of Bassa Atesina, as well as many other rock formations make up South Tyrol’s wide offer of crags.
This guidebook includes 125 crags, with the aim of providing the general public of climbers with the most exhaustive description of all the climbing spots available, no one excluded. Besides its high number of crags, suitable to all tastes and seasons, you are going to enjoy an amazing territory, with spectacular mountains, green alpine meadows, typical alpine huts, great hospitality and high standards of safety characterizing all the crags, that are certainly worth a visit for all those who want to escape from the hustle of modern life. Thanks to this guidebook you’ll have plenty of choice... enjoy climbing in South Tyrol!

Guido Colombetti born in 1980, was born and bred in South Tyrol where he still lives to this day and has become an avid sports climber in his local crags and not only. As well as living in the mountains, and making the most of snow and rock all year round thanks to his degree in Multimedia communications and his diploma as a “AMM Excursion Guide”, in between one pitch and another, he professionally deals with Internet and communications and collaborates with agencies all over the world organizing treks in what he calls “the world’s most beautiful mountains” better known as the Dolomites. For Versante Sud he has published SnowAlp in Trentino-Alto Adige (2012) and Alto Adige Falesie.
