This edition is only available in Italian.
This book reconstructs the salient features of the life and mountaineering experiences of Riccardo Bee from Belluno, up to the tragic epilogue during the Christmas holidays of 1982 on the frozen north-east face of Agnèr. The text, essential, aims to reflect the singular nature of Riccardo, also essential, without rhetoric, without self-celebrations, without excessive words, nonconformist. The story, in the second part, reports numerous direct testimonies, a sort of "choral novel" where those who knew him or repeated one of his routes relive not only the episodes but above all the emotions that such episodes have dug into their memories. The memory of his brother Adriano, that of his friend, that of his climbing companion, that of the mountaineer who repeated one of his routes-journeys. And finally, a technical note for fans of the genre: the detailed report of the route on Pilastro Bee dell’Agnèr, the result of the author’s experience in repeating it in the summer of 2013.
Marco Kulot, born in Trieste in 1987, a professional registered with the National College of Alpine Guides and... father of Carlotta. He alternates his mountaineering passion for climbing mountains with reading and knowledge of the feats of the strongest mountaineers. Riccardo’s routes and his figure as a legendary mountaineer therefore enter his library. He is so impressed that he wants to find out more about what has been said and written about him. In the summer of 2013, to get more in tune with the mountaineering practiced by the eminent climber from Belluno, he repeats Pilastro Bee all’Agnèr together with his friend Leonardo Comelli. Angela Bertogna, a clerk by profession, lives in the plains out of necessity but cultivates her only dream: moving to the mountains. A methodical frequenter of the Alpine paths of her region, Friuli Venezia-Giulia and the neighboring ones, she is especially enthusiastic about the abandoned farmhouses, the bivouacs, the ruins that can sometimes be glimpsed under the thick blanket of nettles of the once inhabited and now abandoned sites. She has never been a mountaineer (she would never have had the courage) but who knows, perhaps in another life, the opportunity will present itself. She loves reading but above all she loves telling stories about the mountains. Anything, as long as it has a dimension that goes beyond the horizontal. This is her first job.
