This edition is only available in Italian.
This book is first and foremost a guide for those who want to take the road of slacklining in all its forms, from tricklines to longlines to highlines. It aims to be a point of reference for those who are approaching this world, even "alone", and feel the need to learn the right techniques. Slacklining requires knowledge of assembly techniques, correct use of materials, as well as small tricks to know to avoid making mistakes or getting hurt. This work concentrates all the basics of this discipline and you can also find many practical tips in addition to the techniques for performing the first tricks, but also those for walking on longlines and highlines. "Slacklining", or the art of walking on a "slackline" (literally, loose line) comes from the United States, more precisely from California. Here, in the early 1980s, Adam Grosowsky and Jeff Ellington began, as a pastime, to train their balance on ropes, chains, and later tapes. Perhaps, unknowingly, they were creating the epicenter for a new discipline, which would spread throughout the world. If you consider that the world record in 2005 was a hundred meters, and that today the 100 meters are the first big goal for a beginner who dedicates himself to longline, it is easy to deduce the enormous leap in level that this sport has had in the last ten years.
Sirio Izzo, born in Milan on December 31, 1986, has dedicated himself to martial arts since he was a child. He began practicing judo at the age of 5, and at 20 he discovered capoeira. Since then he has dedicated himself to sports and teaching, especially to children. He is a Judo and Judo-Game instructor, adapted to preschool children. He discovered slacklining for the first time in Milan, during a performance by the legendary "Frenchies", Julien Millot and Trancrede Melet, but he had the opportunity to try it only in Brazil, in 2011. After returning from vacation, he devoted himself more and more to slacklining, traveling and meeting other practitioners, very few at the time. In 2013, together with two friends, he founded the Slackline Italia association and dedicated himself to spreading slacklining in our country. Every spring he organizes the "Slackline Meeting Milano", one of the largest gatherings in Italy, which reached its fifth edition in 2016. Through the association he also organizes meetings, performances and workshops to provide a point of reference for those approaching this sport.
