Gran Sasso has been the main stage of notable feats in Central Italy. It is a multi-faceted mountain, featuring shapes, colours, rocks, landscapes. All of them vary harmoniously, allowing to enjoy diverse climbing tastes. You will find amazingly compact leaning slabs, overhanging structures, sunny walls and wild and solitary rock faces, corners, cracks, chimneys, fantastic rock and unutterable rubble, easy and difficult. It is an "open" mountain, in spite of certain ancient, local narrow mindedness.

Alberto Bazzucchi was born in Aquila in 1967 and works as a researcher. He is a member of the Mountain Rescue team and collaborates with the Alpinism School “Nestore Nanni” of the Aquila CAI for which he is an instructor. His climbing activity is mainly undertaken on Gran Sasso d’Italia but his interest for highest summits often leads him to the main mountains of the Alps.

Igor Brutti was born in 1967, and grew up in Grottammare (AP). This way, he enjoyed as well the seaside! He’s working in the Alpine Rescue Team of Guardia di Finanza since 1989, and lives in L’Aquila with his family. He’s qualified as an Alpine Guide in 2008, exploring especially the Gran Sasso area, both for work and passion. He also climbed several noteworthy routes in the Dolomites and in Western Alps. He loves as well travelling by camper near the coastline, exploring new places for climbing – especially in Sardinia and Sicily.
