In addition, we cannot forget Argentario, a true paradise where climbing harmoniously blends in with the sea.
The new crags at Massa, the important development of Amiata and the recent discoveries in the southern part of Tuscany, make this edition even more interesting. Raffaele Giannetti, born in 1985 in Carrara (MS) near the Apuan Alps, he grew up in the mountains that pushed him in the direction of sports climbing. He is the president of the Versante Apuano association which is dedicated to the bolting and upkeep of crags and promoting climbing in Tuscany, and protecting the territory. In 2017 he opened The Wall, a bouldering gym situated between the Apuan Alps and Muzzerone, an innovative area which is not simply a climbing gym, but it has become a meeting point for the climbing community. Currently, the facility is on standby while awaiting a new location, with the hope of reopening soon.
