“The mountains have taught me that the journey is as important as the destination, and that the experience is a precious gift to be cherished with every fiber of my being. The search for beauty and serenity in the quietest moments, such as at sunset or sunrise, has enriched my life and made the mountains a place of immeasurable inspiration.”
Going to the mountains is simply beautiful, and the journey makes us feel alive in the here and now. Even when the journey ends, we have a precious baggage of memories at our disposal. The best way to make memories immortal is precisely to photograph.
In this manual you will find suggestions with related examples for taking photographs with greater awareness during your adventures. The landscape photographer is someone who falls in love with the colors, lights, and shapes that the world offers us. An observer who is very attentive to detail, always with eyes in motion, a person who will not limit himself to going to the mountains to perform a technical gesture, on the contrary, he goes to the mountains because he feels the need to observe these enchanting and mysterious scenarios.
The landscape photographer is often also a curious reader of topographic maps, always on the hunt for unknown valleys and new views. The landscape photographer goes to the mountains to enter the temple of beauty, to make sure that it is everywhere, around him.Elia Lazzari is a travel and landscape photographer. His intense love for the mountains is born from his fascination with the majestic scenery and colors of uncontaminated nature. Hiking, mountaineering, climbing, trekking along paths and glaciers, mountain running and mountain biking are an inexhaustible source of inspiration for him. He collaborates with the UNESCO Dolomites Foundation, with the “Pillole di Zoldo” project (for the valorization of the territory), and has collaborated with the technical clothing company Salewa and with the Cammini d’Italia community. Passionate about technology, an IT professional, a guitarist, an animal lover, interested in cartography and meteorology, his many facets come together in images that excite. In his explorations he captures the essence of landscapes with a careful gaze and artistic sensitivity, trying to convey the amazement and sense of wonder he feels in those moments: dawn and sunset above all are for Elia the moments of greatest suggestion, when the light paints the mountain in a unique way and softens its shapes. In addition to the nearby Apennines, he has a deep bond with the Dolomites, in particular with the Val di Zoldo where he has ventured since childhood, while since 2018 he has also traveled regularly to Northern Europe (especially Iceland and Norway, but not only) giving in to the call of Scandinavian atmospheres, to then return to Bologna, where he was born and raised. His greatest joy is experiencing the magic that comes from a shot: through his gaze he can show others the grandeur of some places, of some moments, of nature, and share their enchantment.
