This guidebook presents all the climbing possibilities in the beautiful valleys of the Appennines around Piacenza, a place where rock, local traditions and food and wine culture are deeply connected. Inside this volume you’ll also find insights about the history and the people who contributed to the mountaineering exploration and development of this beautiful territory.
Eugenio Pinotti was born in Piacenza in 1961, where he lives and works as an architect. For more than 25 years he’s been witnessing and promoting the evolution of climbing in this part of the Appennines. He has actively contributed to this evolution establishing several new routes and bolting crags. For several years he has been managing the activities of the indoor climbing gym of the CAI of Piacenza. From 2001 he collaborates with Versante Sud: from 2003 to 2013 he was part of the editorial team of UP Climbing Magazine’s Yearbook, he takes care of the drawings of many climbing and mountaineering guidebooks and published the previous edition of this guidebook (2001).
