MARCHE multipitch
Classic and modern routes between San Marino and Teramo
The Marche region is extraordinarily beautiful, with marvellous mountains which have just recently been approached by mountaineers and only for this reason are not very well known by many climbers. For the first time this guide book collects the best rock climbing which this territory offers: classic and modern routes, both easy and difficult situated in the wild Sibillini mountains, as well as on the fantastic rock of Frasassi and other areas at lower altitudes.
This collection of routes is just the beginning of a great adventure with the intention of discovering this land “trapped” between the sky and the sea.
Igor Brutti, born in Switzerland grew up in Grottamare (Ascoli Piceno) which explains his passion for both mountains and sea. He has been a Mountain Guide since 2007 and works mainly on Gran Sasso as well on the mountains of the Marche. He works and lives with his family in L’Aquila, which has become his adoptive city. As well as climbing in the Alps and Dolomites his great passion is travelling by camper and discovering new crags above all in Sicily and Sardinia, by the sea.
Samuele Mazzolini was born in Cesena and lives in Forlì with his family and teaches in the local high school as well as being a free lance engineer. He has climbed many very difficult routes ranging from the Dolomites to Gran Sasso. He loves the Marche deeply, where he has opened and repeated many routes, finding the ideal terrain for exploring and climbing, never too far from home!
