Home PageThe LUOGHI VERTICALI series is Europe's leading series of guidebooks concerning touristic destinations and itineraries of outdoor sports. It has around 300 titles describing routes for rock climbing, ice climbing, mountaineering, trail running or hiking, mountain biking, ski mountaineering and off-piste skiing.
It is not only the largest European series of its kind in terms of volumes, pages and territory covered, but also in terms of its worldwide distribution.
The guides are published in exclusive volumes for the different languages: mainly in Italian, German and English, but where necessary also in other languages such as French or Portuguese.
The relationship with the territory is a key to the success of this series and one of the fundamental points of our work: not only is it fundamental to the success of our books (see the ZERO Miles project), but it can transform our guides into an important driver of outdoor, slow and sustainable sports tourism.
Our catalogue features another 150 titles divided into our other series:
I RAMPICANTI, a fiction series;
PERFORMA, a series of technical handbooks dedicated to the outdoor sports covered in the guidebooks;
UP ANNUARIO, a mountaineering yearbook with all the major mountaineering and climbing performances of the year;
CLIMBERS, the world's first sticker album dedicated to the protagonists of climbing and mountaineering.
Finally, among the printed products, in our range of proposals we have UP CLIMBING, a bimonthly magazine conceived, desired and edited by climbers, which deals with monographic topics, related to places, cultural themes or technical issues of the vertical world.
From January 2025 it is also available in a digital version.
On the web, we are present with our web magazine UP-CLIMBING.com, a multidisciplinary portal dedicated to all mountain sports; from the various forms of climbing to powder disciplines and trailrunning.
It is one of the leading Italian web magazines dedicated to mountaineering.
CLIMBING RADIO, the first and only radio station dedicated to the climbing world! Launched in May 2015, it broadcasts music and climbing-related content 24 hours a day, with ample space for news and live reports from the most important locations and events in the climbing world.
It is the most innovative tool with which we promote our books and the locations covered in them, and from September 2023 it is also in video version on the YouTube platform.
When you find this logo printed on our books, it means you have purchased a ZERO Miles product!
What does it mean?
That it is made by local authors, so it is healthier and tastes better!
Like Zero-Miles tomatoes?
Of course!
Local authors are good for those who buy a guidebook:
– they have the freshest and most up-to-date news;
– they don't just rehash the most commercial spots;
– they reinvest the proceeds in new crags, itineraries, excursions.
Local authors are good for the territory:
– they only publish what can be published;
– they are careful to promote all locations;
– they network with the local reality.
It is easy to see why:
on their rocks, on their paths, on their snows there is a piece of their heart.
Books for Bolts is a project conceived by us in 2006 that provides, for each climbing guidebook published, the donation of a certain amount of material, stainless steel bolts, slabs and belays, which can be used for the creation of new routes or, above all, for the securing of old ones.
All we ask to the beneficiaries of this project is that they together with the authors make a rough assessment of the appropriateness of the work, and a documentation when the work is finished so that we can publish the information.
These are small contributions in materials through which we aim to acknowledge and support the indispensable work carried out by route bolters for sport climbing. Their efforts are made even more noble and valuable by their almost always free and voluntary nature.
