FERRATE in LOMBARDIA

40 itineraries on the Alps and Prealps of Varese, Lecco, Como, Sondrio, Bergamo and Brescia + High crossing of the Grigne and Sentiero Roma

There is a public of mountain enthusiasts who love via ferratas: routes equipped with metal cables, fixed anchors of various kinds, ladders and suspended bridges that make a rock face more accessible to mountaineers, allowing them to travel along it more easily and reach more or less high peaks. Via ferratas have a glorious past and have been significantly revalued by climbing tourism over time.

Today, via ferratas represent a recreational activity accessible to many athletes and, with this book, the author, an expert Alpine Guide, accurately presents and describes all the Lombard itineraries, describing not only the necessary logistical information but also the state of equipment and maintenance. The guide also contains valuable advice on correct safety and progression techniques, expressed in a clear and simple way, to allow even the least experienced user to perform them correctly.

The goal is to offer the public quality information, freeing them from the uncertainties of a web search, until now the main source of information. In fact, not everyone is able to discern the quality of information on the internet, in an activity whose margin of risk is real as in all mountaineering activities, especially in this one that seems (and in part is) affordable for an audience of less expert mountaineers.

Andrea “Bedoii” Carì. After completing his studies in Psychology and Psychotherapy, he transformed his passion for the mountains, which he had since birth and passed on from his father, into a profession by becoming an Alpine Guide and founding the Mountain Dream Guide group in Valsassina. The transition was obligatory because, as Andrea likes to say, “some professions” are not chosen but written directly into our DNA. He has climbed and scaled mountains around the world, but those at home, namely the Orobie and the Grigne, are his favorite playground, opening many new climbing routes and cliffs, in the wildest and most hidden corners. At 18, always following in the footsteps of his father and sister, he joined the Alpine Rescue and in 25 years of interventions and rescues, he has made available the skills resulting from both his university studies and his passion for dog training, working as a psychologist trainer and avalanche dog helicopter rescuer. In recent years at the headquarters of the Mountain Dream Guide Group together with other colleagues he has specialized in the creation and redevelopment of via ferratas and in training sessions for new enthusiasts of this discipline.
