82 itinerari scelti tra Valchiavenna, Valle Spluga e Val Bregaglia
The book is published in Italian
Walking is that gesture that we learn from a very young age, a skill that allows us to reach and explore places on this planet unattainable by any technology, where only our legs can take us. Slow progress is perfect for fully enjoying what surrounds us. Effort is part of the game and if you reach the finish line with a lot of sweat, the satisfaction will be unique and incomparable.
This guide was born from the desire to introduce a small slice of the Italian Alps. More precisely, the territory of Val Chiavenna, Valle Spluga (or Val San Giacomo) and Val Bregaglia. Thanks to the numerous itineraries proposed, of every difficulty and physical effort, it is possible to choose the trekking excursion most suitable for you, and discover unique and natural places, immersed in the greenery of high-altitude woods and pastures. There’s something for all tastes!
The more experienced will find challenging and technical itineraries to reach peaks above 3000m above sea level, while there will be trips within everyone’s reach with limited difficulty, travel times and physical effort. Almost all trips can be done without specific equipment, harnesses, ropes and mountaineering knowledge are not necessary, just good footwear, a backpack for the mountains and appropriate clothing. The more daring and enterprising, however, will be able to take inspiration from the contents proposed here to plan more sophisticated and elaborate excursions.
Alberto Martinelli, born in Brianza in 1995, already practiced various different sporting activities as a child. Growing up, he became particularly passionate about action sports including kitesurfing, mountain biking, and mountaineering. During his university studies he worked as a Kitesurf instructor on Lake Como, and was the author of the book of mountain bike itineraries “Pedalare in Adamello”. Having subsequently moved to Valchiavenna, he had the opportunity to discover and explore in detail the fantastic mountains that surround it, developing the desire to make these places known in the most beautiful and simple way there is, that is, by walking.
