This book, first of its kind in Europe, examines almost 600 icefalls over the vast territory of the Alpine chain.
Special attention has been given to the photographs, with spectacular action photos as well as marked itineraries on the photos.
This guide book was made possible thanks to the collaboration of: Patrick Gabarrou, Ueli Steck, Ezio Marlier, Beat Kammerlander, Peter Podgornik.
A must for the ice-climber and as Claude Gardien, director of Vertical, reminds us in his preface:
«an invitation to travel, meet and discover far away and un-known ice.»

About the Author
Mario Sertori was born in Sondrio in 1962. A Mountain guide since 1991 and a follower of alpinism’s explorative school of thought, he has climbed over 100 new ice routes and just as many on rock.
In 2004 for Blu Editions he published a guide with 500 itineraries on ice-falls in the Central Alps, and in 2007 for Versante Sud, together with Guido Lisignoli, “Solo Granito”, the most complete climbing guide on the Masino-Bregaglia-Disgrazia group.
He collaborates with Grivel and Aku.
